Malik knew he wanted to be an entrepreneur from an early age and graduated from a high school in Toronto that had specialized courses in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Malik went straight into the business world after high school, and stood out from the start with his fresh, young sense of style - including a prized collection of sneakers. What investors and clients saw at first glance was reflected in his fresh take on ideas for the 3D printing industry too.

When Malik first started working in the 3D printing industry, 3D printing was a revolutionary technology, but limited to the heavy-industry sector. Malik had other ideas. He was able to come up with several new concepts not yet seen in the field, and created his company, RapidMake 3D Printing, that provides services to large manufacturing companies, as well as more mobile options that home-based consumers can use. By taking a relatively new technology and putting it into the hands of individuals and smaller businesses instead, Malik expanded the customer base for 3D printing that his company could market to.

RapidMake now works with a range of industries and businesses in the areas of architecture, construction, advertising, medicine and art.

Though Konrad Malik is still involved with the company, and committed to the field of 3D printing, he has other focuses in his life now as well. He is married to his wife, Sofia, and started a family. He has two daughters, Phoebe and Stephanie, and as a successful entrepreneur, he is better able to spend time making memories with them while also getting out to see the world, as travel is another passion of Malik’s.
