I am a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Western Ontario. I hold a PhD in Sociology from McGill University.
My research examines educational stratification, the school-to-work transition, and labor market outcomes. My PhD dissertation examined the role of field of study in shaping the early labor market outcomes of postsecondary graduates in Canada.
Currently, with Dr. Patrick Denice, I am examining how the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM)—a career and technical education pathway offered in Ontario high schools—shapes student outcomes, including high school graduation, postsecondary and apprenticeship enrolment, and labor market integration.
I am also interested in how skills—both cognitive and non-cognitive—are formed, used, and how they are rewarded in the labor market. I look at how education equips graduates with distinct skills, how these skills shape individuals' labor market trajectories, and how these relationships differ across institutional contexts.
