"It’s a great honor for me to start my research career under supervision of Prof. Yau Kok-Lim at Sunway University. I am thankful for his assiduous and humble supervision that he spent countless hours on proof reading my work, and polishing my research write-ups. With his supervision, I was able to achieve a high quality research and was able to publish 3 research articles in prestigious journals of computer science, including Future Generation Computer Systems (Elsevier) and IEEE Access. Apart from the research, he had also helped me in sorting out the other issues of my life. Thanks for being a good mentor and for guiding me on the right path during my Masters. I will always be thankful to you. Not only have you been a fantastic mentor to me, but you have taught me how to mentor other people. :-)"

"To earn a Ph.D. degree is really not an easy job without continuous help and guidance from your supervisor. Technically speaking, supervisor is a person who must be an expert in your subject (or area of research), if not in your actual Ph.D. topic. However, in my case I found myself blessed to have Dr. Kok-Lim Alvin Yau as my mentor and supervisor. He has all the knowledge and skills that are required to supervise a Ph.D. student. During my Ph.D. tenure, he supervised me professionally and patiently. My advice for prospective and passionate Ph.D. students is that don’t wait for the ideal conditions. If you have a dream (i.e., earning a Ph.D. degree) then start applying now. You will learn things gradually while studying, but keep one thing in your mind: “there’s a life after Ph.D., thanks. At the end, I would like to say thanks to my supervisor, although I know it is not enough to fully express my gratitude for Dr. Kok-Lim Alvin Yau :-)"

"It was my great pleasure to pursue my Master's with Dr. Yau at Sunway University, Malaysia. I used to learn lot of research skills from Dr. Yau during my Masters. He always encouraged me to investigate more and come up with new ideas, as well as continuously provided me his very insightful suggestions on my work. I always found him very patient and professional. I also got a chance to collaborate with MIMOS Berhad, a research and development industry in Malaysia, during my Masters which was realized due to Dr. Yau. Under his supervision, I was able to achieve a high quality research with in-depth analysis and was able to have 4 publications, including 1 patent, 2 journal papers and 1 conference paper in very prestigiuos journals of telecommunications, e.g., IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine and Computer Networks (Elsevier). I am thankful to Dr. Yau for all the things he did for me during my Masters and I look forward to remain in touch with him in future as well.
