Lucas Harrell is a multimedia artist and rising junior at the University of New Orleans pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Arts and in International Studies. He attended the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts from 2020-2023 with a concentration in Media Arts, and studied abroad in the APSU-Japan summer program in Kyoto with Doshisha University in 2025. Lucas is often inspired by the manifestation of culture in different places of the world, and aims to synthesize cultural imagery in a thoughtful and thoroughly researched way.
Lucas is also particularly inspired by his experiences as both a queer individual and as a young adult whose coming-of-age was defined by the internet. He is interested in exploring the lack of cultural boundaries on the internet, and how individuals react to and interact with a variety of art pieces.
While working as a freelance multimedia artist with a specialization in digital art, animation, and printmaking, he also works part-time as an arts instructor for a contractor in South-east Louisiana. Lucas was inspired by influential arts teachers and works to foster a space where children can express themselves and their interests without judgement.
