About Workshop
Introduction
This workshop will provide hands-on training to library professionals by providing adequate practical knowledge which will enable the participants to automate the libraries on their own by using Koha. The workshop will be also useful to those who wish to migrate their existing data to Koha. Workshop comprises of lectures, demonstration and hands-on training using Koha software in detail. The workshop also aims to provide basic knowledge and skills to participants in customizing Koha OPAC for creating, designing, conceptualizing and managing as library website. The basic purpose of this workshop is to equip participants with technical skills for automating their own libraries with the following objectives:
To create awareness among professionals about open source technology & its application in library.
To make the library professionals technically sound so as to automate their library independently.
To enable the library & information professionals to face the technological challenges like installation of Koha etc.
About Koha
Koha is the first Open Source Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) which includes Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, Serial Control & Online Public Access Catalogue with many more advanced features. Koha supports International library standards and protocols which ensures interoperability between Koha & any other library management system. It supports technologies and international standards such as MARC 21, RFID, z39.50, web 2.0 etc. The software is fully customizable and includes all modules expected in any standard library management system.

Target Participants
The workshop is intended for Library & Information Science Professionals, Working Librarians, Researchers and LIS Students. Registration is limited to 60 participants on first come first serve basis.
About Pingle Government College for Women (Autonomous) and Library:
Pingle Government College for Women, Hanumakonda (is also known as Hanamkonda) is an Autonomous College recognised by UGC, Government of India and reaccredited by NAAC with 'A' grade was established to cater the educational needs of Women. In those days when the opportunities for women to pursue higher education were scarce in Warangal, the elite of the historical city felt the need for an educational institution exclusively for women. It is because of the generous donation of their ancestral building and place by the Pingle family, Pingle Government College for Women was established on 16-08- 1965 in the pastoral surroundings of Waddepally, Warangal. The institution caters to women's education. In a campus area of four acres, with two security personnel round the clock, college provides adequate security to the students. With modest strength of 67 students and 11 teaching faculty members, in the year 1965, the college today has strength of about 2000 students and 70 sanctioned teaching faculty. College celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the year 1991 and Golden Jubilee in the year 2015. It has strong alumnae and settled all over the world in various fields as industry leaders, political leaders, Scientists, Academicians etc.It has state of the art facilities like Digital Library, Science & Computer labs, a Research Center with advanced equipment, smart class rooms, a newly constructed auditorium etc.

LIBRARY :
Library in Pingle Government College for Women, Waddepally, Hanumakonda, Warangal Urban has a long history of 58 Years in parallel with the history of the college which was established in the year 1965. It is located at Auditorium building in I st floor with huge space and 22000 Collection. Our college library supports process of college education through providing required reading materials (Print and Electronic) such as Text books, Reference books, Competitive Examination books, PG Entrance books, General reading books, Journals, Magazines, Newspapers, Rare Books, e-books, e-journals (N-LIST) and also provides access to Syllabus copies and previous Question papers to the staff and students and opens the doors to the wide world of books which encourages reading for gain of knowledge and pleasure. College library is also used for recreation and leisure as it provides light reading materials like magazines, novels, a huge collection of Urdu, Hindi, Telugu and English literature, etc.
