The Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET) is an Inter-University Centre under the UGC (University Grants Commission), Ministry of Education, Government of India. 

It provides extensive support to the scholarly community and higher education institutions (HEIs) through various projects and services. 

Let’s delve into the key aspects:

Library Automation:

INFLIBNET offers SOUL (Software for University Libraries), which aids in automating academic libraries.

IndCat is a union database that aggregates resources available in academic libraries.

IR services focus on institutional repositories, facilitating access to scholarly content.

e-Resources and Services:

eSS (e-ShodhSindhu) and NLIST provide access to highly priced e-resources for universities and colleges.

INFED and INFISTAT are additional e-resource services.

OAI (Open Archives Initiative):

ShodhGanga and ShodhShuddhi are part of the OAI initiative. 

ShodhGanga is a repository of Indian electronic theses and dissertations, while ShodhShuddhi focuses on plagiarism detection.

OER (Open Educational Resources):

EPGP, SWAYAM, and SWAYAM Prabha are platforms that provide open educational resources to learners and educators.

Research Network:

VIDWAN, IRINS, SheRNI, and Shodh-Chakra constitute the research network. These platforms connect researchers, facilitate collaboration, and promote scholarly communication.
