The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.7 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.
On Tuesday, October 4, 1949 a group of men submitted a document to the Supreme Council, Knights of Columbus, requesting formation as a Knights of Columbus Council. The Council number 3254 was assigned and our council came into being. Some 65 plus years have passed since this event occurred.
The council is named after the foothill community located at the base of the San Gabriel mountains lying in the northern portion of the City of Glendale and a portion of unincorporated county of Los Angeles.
Members meet on the first Thursday each month at 8 PM to conduct council business. The meetings are open to First, Second, Third and Fourth Degree Knights. The meetings are held in the Council Hall located at:
2657 Honolulu Avenue, Montrose, CA. 91020
The Knights can be contacted by phone at (818)249-4539, or by email at knightsofcolumbus3254@gmail.com.
The Council has a Ladies Auxiliary. Their main function is to support the men and the council. They do this primarily by cooking and helping with setting up and decorating the hall for events.
Name Badges should be worn any time you need to be recognized as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Either as an individual or with other Knights. Especially for every council meeting.
Name badges for Knights are provided by the council to each Knight when he joins.
Name badges for spouses are also available by contacting Past Grand Knight, Mike Forys.
If a name badge is lost or no longer serviceable, they can be replaced for a nominal cost of about $5.00. Please see the Financial Secretary to make arrangements for a replacement.
