Serving Kamloops since 1982
Serving Kamloops since 1982
Founded in 1982, our council was created to serve a growing need for a second Knights of Columbus presence in Kamloops. Under the leadership of District Deputy Dale Scherer, Charter Grand Knight Mark Weiler, and Charter Deputy Grand Knight John Wiens, members from across the community came together to form the new council at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish.
Beginning with 64 charter members, the council quickly grew to 76 within six months — a clear sign of both the need for and strength of Catholic brotherhood in our city.
Since our founding, we have continued his legacy of faith, fraternity, and service to our parish and community.
This original charter, issued on May 25, 1982, formally established William Brennan Council No. 8132 in Kamloops, British Columbia. Signed by Supreme Knight Virgil C. Dechant, it marks the beginning of our council’s mission of faith, fraternity, and service — a legacy that continues today.
Our council proudly bears the name William Brennan, honoring a dedicated Knight who served as State Deputy, Grand Knight of Kamloops Council 1614 multiple times, and supported servicemen through the Knights of Columbus army huts during the Second World War.
More than 40 years later, our council continues to serve Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish and the Kamloops community through charity, fellowship, and hands-on service. Guided by faith and brotherhood, we remain committed to making a difference wherever we are needed.
