Often, people have a very limited knowledge of different career and occupational options. Now that you are more aware of personality traits and interest, you are ready to take a further look into careers that you might not have considered previously.
O*Net is a wonderful resource. Use the information that you gained from your previous assessments and search occupations that match your abilities, interest, and personality. You will find that through this search, you will be able to see many more occupations and careers that closely align with the original occupation that was put into the search box. There are so many jobs that are typically not considered or known, and this is a way to access that information (National Center for O*NET Development, n.d.).
Refer to the video below to understand the many facets of O*Net and how to navigate this site.
**TIP: If your desired job requires a college education, check out the "college" page after exploring O*Net. If however, your occupation does not require college, look at "local career centers" to proceed with finding the job of your choice.
