The Kochi Core Center (KCC), jointly operated by Kochi University and JAMSTEC, is one of the world’s three official IODP core repositories, located on the Monobe campus in Kochi Prefecture. Equipped with state‑of‑the‑art analytical laboratories and extensive refrigerated storage facilities, it provides an essential research environment for geochemical, physical, and microbiological studies using deep‑sea drilling cores. With dedicated curation staff supporting global sample access, KCC serves as an international hub for marine and Earth science research, fostering active collaboration and scientific exchange among visiting researchers from around the world.
