Legacy - History - Background

 AROUND 1975, At age 7 Kobos father owned a machine shop/fabrication/ Porsche specialist repair shop.  Kobos father, gave him simple projects, like moving a stack of alternators, generators and starters.  While this was boring work Kobos often day dreamed of ways to use these items and asked his father about these ways, which was generally a Chuckel.  

As Kobos got older his father gave him much more complicated tasks like striping motors down to the main bearings and hot tanking all the parts where Kobos father would rebuild the motors and sell them in the thrifty nickel, a news paper publication. Around this time Kirk and his friend sketched pictures of futuristic cars, (and more) entering in to story contests and won a trip to Hearst castle. There after Kobos was nearing the age (15) of being able to drive and ask his father if he would be able to help him with a car, and his dad replied yes, and pointed out the window of the shop and said there it is, and Kobos asked which one, and Kobos father pointed to a flat stripped frame laying on the ground had nothing on it, and said there it is. Kobos thought here was joking, but he was serious and said, i have title to it, then pointed to anther car in the lot (different year car) and said you can use parts off the other vehicle.   Using some parts from the other vehicle along with parts in Kobos dads part store, and his dads trusty bolt bucket Kobos assembled assembled a automobile and drove it for his first vehicle!  Fortunately the year of the title was old enough that the dmv did not require inspection, as it was a combination of years car. (kind of like that Jonny Cash song about the Cadillac.( one piece at a time)
