RHMD based Augmented Reality

RHMD based AR System is mirror metaphor augmented reality system. One of characteristic of RHMD is that it can be replaced the normal mirror system as a smart mirror or magic mirror. Currently, they are used in a variety of applications like Magic Mirror, Holoflector and so on. The RHMD based AR system is very interesting that users can see themselves interacting with virtual object. So, we propose the prototype of RHDM based AR system and our project team is developing a variety of applications.

System Configuration

In the proposed system, the final augmented scene that the observer perceives is the mixed scene of virtual objects rendered on a display and the reflection of the reali environment, as follow.

The relative pose estimation between the tracker and the mirror has very important role of RHMD AR system. We estimate the relative pose of them using an extra camera as described in [1].
