'경북대,색소·복잡 공정 없는 나노 컬러 소자 개발…차세대 광학 기술로 주목 '
국내 연구팀이 물감 같은 색소 성분을 이용하지 않고 복잡한 미세 가공 공정 없이 다양한 색을 구현할 수 있는 광학 소자 기술을 개발했다. 차세대 디스플레이와 보안, 디자인 분야로의 활용 가능성이 클 것으로 기대된다.

'경북대, 새로운 전계발광 소자 기술 개발. '
경북대학는 도윤선 전자공학부 교수팀이 기존 유기발광다이오드(OLED) 소재를 사용하면서도 색을 더욱 선명하게 구현할 수 있는 '이중 마이크로캐비티(Dual Microcavity)' 기반 협대역(좁은 파장폭) OLED 기술 개발에 성공했다고 10일 밝혔다. 새로운 소재 개발이 아닌 광학 구조 설계만으로 고색순도와 고휘도를 확보하며 XR, VR 등 차세대 초고해상도 디스플레이 적용 가능성을 제시했다.

'경북대, 새로운 전계발광 소자 기술 개발. '
경북대학는 도윤선 전자공학부 교수팀이 한국생산기술연구원 조관현 박사팀과 공동연구로 새로운 이중 마이크로캐비티 구조를 적용해 디스플레이 설계와 제작과정을 간소화하고, 동시에 색 재현율을 높인 전계발광 소자 고도화 기술을 개발했다고 4일 밝혔다. 마이크로 캐비티 구조는 빛의 공진 현상을 이용해 전계발광 소자의 스펙트럼 특성을 제어하는 기술이다. OLED등 고효율 고색순도의 초고화질 디스플레이 구현 기술에 활용된다.

Project
New research projects launched in 2024!
In 2024, the research activities in our lab have been steadily flourishing. The "Industrial Technology Alchemist Project," overseen by KEIT, successfully passed the final competitive stage evaluation and has entered Phase 3. This project will be conducted over the next five years under the title "Mixed Realism Adaptive Visual Transformation Technology for a Borderless Infinite Metaverse.". In April 2024, we started another project in collaboration with five other groups, categorized under the "Future Promising Convergent Technology Pioneer (미래유망융합기술파이오니어)" of the STEAM Project funded by NRF. The title is "Next generation high-energy-density hybrid system for clean energy conversion and storage based on photo-induced eco batteries.".

Project
New research project started!
On June 2022, we have started another research project funded by NRF, which is titled 'Meta-lens integrated CIGS thin film photovoltaics for low cost and large area devices(저가 및 대면적 대응 메타렌즈 집적 CIGS 박막 태양전지 연구)'. It was meaningful for us since this is the firstly proposed subject about photovoltaic devices from nPAE. All the nPAE members involved in this proposal through thoroughly analyzing the previous researches, making up the concepts through the in-depth discussion, and writing & revisions. The advisor feels that each member has grown a lot. Thanks all for your efforts, and do our best fo the newly launched project. This will be a good opportunity for enlarging our research field.Our group got research funding from the Ministry of Industry, the project has started titled 'Development of ultra high quality with long lifetime of color converting material, process and module for extremely large-area micro LED display(초대형 마이크로 LED 디스플레이 제작을 위한 초고화질 장수명 색변환 소재/공정 및 핵심 모듈 개발)'. We believe that this project will help improving our research ability, and we will do so. Let's cheer up guys~!

nPAE won Awards in 2020
Feb.) Prof. Do won the 'OSKJ 기여상' from the Optical Society of Korea in Feb. 2020. It seems this is the result of consistent publications, thanks to the passionate contributions of all students. Thanks.Aug.) In addition, she won the first prize (최우수상) in a non-face-to-face lecture competition (비대면 우수강의 공모전) from college of IT engineering, KNU. This award recognised her efforts in a non-face-to-face regime, first attempted in the context of COVID-19. Congratulations!
Nov.) Prof. Do and her team participated in the SE-KNU Festival, which was held by the Innovation Center for Engineering Education, KNU (공학교육혁신센터). Our team won 'the innovation prize (혁신상).' Congratulations to the team leader Jun Yong Kim and our members (3 undergrad. students). Again, Let's do our best, and wish us a successful end.

Hyo Jong Cho, Ki Won Jeong and Sang Bok Lee have successfully done their works as journal papers respectively. Congratulations!!
Our 2nd undergraduate interns finally finished their studies. And their works were successfully finished by being published into journal papers. Especially, three guys' efforts were meaningful as following reasons. Mr. Cho's first work was made in an international journal (SCIE). Mr. Lee's research was the first trial about Photovoltaics for our lab. Lastly, Mr. Jeong developed his new ideas and led the subjective direction. Congratulations all guys~!!Jun Yong Kim s won the 'Best poster paper award' in the 'KNU-ICT Research Award 2019'. Congratulations~!
