Research interests are focused on
- Nanophotonics, Plasmonics
- Application of such nanostructures for light emitting devices and solar energy devices,
flexible and transparent display, light sensors (gas, bio, robot, etc)
- Active nanophotonic materials
So perspective members in our group will perform some theoretical analaysis and demonstration of applied electronics based on nano photonics.
Especially, we compete to develop futuristic electric devices based on information displays,
Beyond and aggressive competition to develop large size screens in early 200's, there have been dramatic advances in display technologies:
- Super high resolved displays
- Novel display types with new light emitting materials
such as organic light emitting diodes, quantum dot,
micro light emitting diodes;
- Three dimensional displays such as light field, holography.
These technical trends help using displays not only for representing information but also for combining digital information with real situation. A variety types of extended reality electronics including virtual reality or augmented reality(AR) have been introduced with their interesting usages, but there still remain many problems to be solved.
Some projects in our group are towards to overcome limits on current extended reality technologies in terms of device structures and viewing experiences with nano photonic technologies.
