FAQs

My name is cynthia nocton, cofounder of known66, and I will be handling the FAQs.

Whatever happened to [WEBSERIES NOT TO BE DISCUSSED]?

Long story short, there were a lot of bad seeds in the collaborator's pile, and by the time I decided to cancel the series, it had really gotten away from the vision I had for it, anyways. For this reason, I have decided to leave it as-is for anyone who really wants to see it, but I won't be finishing it. If there's enough demand, I might return to it someday in the distant future, but it would not be a YouTube series and I will not be collaborating with others outside of the known66 team.

Why can't I find cynthia on socials?

I decided that between the multiple interactions I'd had with toxic individuals on the internet, I had had enough. Social media was draining my mental health, so while my accounts can hypothetically be found, they are mostly private and all are inactive. I actually quit cold turkey and it was one of the easiest decisions of my life. Besides YouTube, which I consider a streaming service more than a social media site, and a couple of "networking" things like GroupMe and Slack, I have absolutely no active social media accounts, though my friends give me a hard time occasionally because I rely on them to find concerts and such. I can be contacted through other means. Don't trust anyone claiming to be me on social media, because they're definitely a liar and most likely worse.

What is HASISP? Is it related to known66 at all?

While both known66 and HASISP were founded by Mateu and I, that's just about where the similarities end. HASISP is a semi-satirical secret society meant to explore society's need to create/obsession with secret orders. HASISP was founded on one idea: what if the secret society has no secrets of its own, but rather guards the secrets of others? We decided the best way to do this was to create a sort of archival group where people can send us their experiences with the supernatural, and, unless their report reveals subject matter that is of legal concern, we keep our mouths sealed except for the witness and other HASISP members, and it's only for the witness to decide who they tell about their paranormal sighting. It's really in its larval stage despite having existed in one form or another for a while now, so you should apply to be initiated!

I notice some similarities between two or more of your works. Is this intentional?

Sometimes! Because this is a collective, I can't speak for every production we've ever done, but in general, there are some multiverses, and continuity between creations. Here's a quick and dirty guide:

I noticed a plot hole/inaccuracy/etc.

That's not a question, but... ouch.

Are you looking for new members?

Yes! Yes! A thousand times, yes! We're a collective, so when we make a profit, everyone involved with that particular project splits it evenly, but nobody is really "paying" anyone else. It's all for fun and the love of creating art. As long as you understand that, please, contact us! We would probably love to work with you. We also accept pure volunteer submissions.

What is your logo?

It's just a little design I came up with on the spot one day. I made a really quick mockup in Google Drawings that turned out to be charming enough that I made him the finished logo. He's wearing antlers and a headband, which spells out "known66" in a simple substitution cipher I made. His one hand is holding out the ASL sign for K in fingerspelling, and his other hand has an index card reading 66. And then of course if it wasn't already blatantly fucking redundant as to what the logo is it says known66 above his head. Does he have a name? Uh, sure. Knowles Dixon. How's that?
