Knowledge Duel (تحدي الأذكياء)
Last updated: 23 October 2026
In short: You can play every mode without an account. An optional account (email and password, or Google sign-in) is available to players aged 13 and over and puts you on the global leaderboard. With an account, we store your email address, a username you choose, a built-in avatar and your scores on Google Firebase. Everything else stays on your device. There are no ads, and we never sell or share your data.
Knowledge Duel is a bilingual (English/Arabic) trivia and math quiz game for Android. This policy explains what information the app handles and how, for everyone who plays it, including parents of younger players, since the app has content designed for children as young as 6.
You do not need an account to play. By default, the app signs you in anonymously with a random identifier that carries no personal information, so basic features work immediately. As a guest, none of the following leave your device:
Your name, email address, phone number or any other personal identifier
Your precise or approximate location
Photos, contacts, files or anything else stored on your device
Pass-and-play, solo modes, AI Duel, Math Gym, the on-device leaderboard and offline Nearby multiplayer (section 5) all work fully as a guest.
Before the account screen opens, the app asks for your year of birth. Accounts are only available to players aged 13 and over; younger players keep every game mode as guests. The app stores only whether this check was passed, on your device. Your year of birth is never stored or sent anywhere.
You can create an account with an email address and password, or sign in with your Google account. If you use Google sign-in, the app receives only your Google account's email address and a sign-in token from Google; it does not read or store your Google name or profile photo.
With an account, we store on Google's Firebase servers:
Your email address, used only to sign you in and, for email accounts, to send a password-reset email if you ask for one
A username you choose, shown publicly on the global leaderboard
An avatar you pick from a fixed set of built-in icons (never a photo; see section 6)
Your best scores and Skill Rank per age category, used to rank you against other players
This data is used only to run the account and leaderboard features. The app contains no ads and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (email, username, avatar, scores and rank) at any time, in two ways:
In the app: open your Account screen and choose "Delete Account".
Without the app: email us at the address in section 13 from your account's email address, with the subject "Delete my account". We delete the account and all its data within 30 days and confirm by email.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. On-device data (local scores, preferences) is separate from your account and is removed by uninstalling the app (section 7).
Nearby multiplayer uses Google's Nearby Connections API so players on nearby phones can play together over Bluetooth or local Wi-Fi. No internet connection is used for this mode, and no match data passes through any server. During a match, your phone exchanges only your player name, answers, timing and running score directly with the other phones in the match; we do not store any of it.
If you are signed in, your Skill Rank may update when your phone next connects to the internet, since rank is account data.
Android requires Location, Bluetooth and Nearby Wi-Fi permissions for any app that discovers nearby devices. Knowledge Duel uses them only for that discovery. The app never reads, stores or sends your GPS location or coordinates.
Knowledge Duel does not support photo uploads. Avatars are chosen from a fixed set of built-in icons, and the app never requests camera, photo or gallery access.
The app keeps a small amount of information locally on your phone: on-device leaderboard scores, preferences (language, age group, sound), the result of the age check (passed or not, never the year), and recently used player names. This never leaves your device, is excluded from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
The app uses your phone's built-in text-to-speech engine to read greetings and Math Gym lessons aloud. This runs through the speech service already installed on your phone; Knowledge Duel sends no text or audio to any server of its own.
Knowledge Duel includes content for a range of ages, including children under 13. We take this seriously:
Players under 13 cannot create or sign in to an account. They play every mode as guests, and no personal information is collected from them.
Accounts collect only an email address, a chosen username and a built-in avatar; never a real name, photo or other identifying information.
There is no chat or messaging, and no way for one player to contact another outside a game.
There is no advertising and no profiling of any player.
Parents and guardians can review this policy at any time and can request deletion of any account using section 4.
The app uses Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) for the optional account and global leaderboard, Google Sign-In for signing in with a Google account, and Google Play services for Nearby Connections. These services are provided by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. Knowledge Duel does not share your data with anyone else.
Account data is sent over encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS) and stored on Google's Firebase infrastructure, protected by security rules that let each account read and change only its own data. On-device data is protected by Android's standard app sandbox.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date. If you have an account, we may also tell you about important changes in the app.
