The KnightlyMinds Initiative recently asked high school students about their mental, emotional, and physical well-being to better understand their needs and challenges.
What We Learned:
Stress and Anxiety: Many students feel stressed, especially with schoolwork and personal concerns. It’s clear that students would appreciate more support in dealing with stress.
Coping Strategies: Students find comfort in talking to friends, staying active, or enjoying their favorite hobbies. However, some students mentioned that more resources at school could help them manage better.
Access to Support: While most students know about mental health resources at school, many haven’t used them. This shows there may be some obstacles in reaching out for help.
Sleep and Physical Health: A lot of students aren’t getting enough sleep on school nights, and some mentioned they don’t get as much physical activity as they’d like.
School Support: Some students feel supported by their schools, but others believe there’s room for improvement when it comes to mental health support.
