What's this all about?

I started this website as an extension of my YouTube channel. I sometimes call it my relaxation space. In the meantime, the website has evolved into a collection of my online activities. If you look around, you will quickly find out: it's all about music here. I was born with music in my body. I don't listen to music... I feel music. It can make me happy but also sad. 

I am someone who doesn't throw everything of his life to the internet. Except for one thing... my love for music. Check last.fm. There you will find the music I have "scrobbled" for 15 years. I can prove statistically that I make strange leaps in music genres. From hard techno to death metal... I love it. 

Although I was born with "the sounds of life" there is still a big gap in my culture. There is more music that I have never heard of but that I apparently should. I don't make music either. I started as a child at the local music school. I was able to do that for several years. But life can take a bumpy ride and unpredictable turns... and I crashed... dreams were never realized. 

No time to be sad about that, it is what it is. But the love for music never went away and when I was 16 I was offered airtime on the local radio. Instead of making music I got to play music on radio. Nowadays I don't have a fixed airtime anymore. The local radios are too mainstream for me to do that. But I do have friends in the radio world and I occasionally pop up as a guest at various local stations. Then I can do my thing. I'm not a top DJ, you can hear that, but it's not about me. You have to judge the artists and the songs I play, not the DJ.

The legal part

There is another aspect I focus on: The legal part. First of all: It is easier to license music than to attribute buttons, banners and photos. This website uses PNG files in the form of buttons and banners. I download them for free. I try to attribute to the creator and any licenses as best as possible. At Commons.wikimedia I get the necessary links and I paste them at the bottom of the relevant page and/or on this page. On another website I was shown a whole series of pages of which I use 2 pages to link the image to. Is that good enough? Who knows? I don’t know, I think so… I think it’s good.

There are also logos in use here that are published by the respective website itself (example: bandcamp.com). What about them? At the moment they are not listed separately at the bottom because these PNGs are only used to link to their website. That’s the link that is expected so I'm done there.

And finally, I also make my own buttons sometimes, either with software that produces a PNG file, or with CSS and HTML. The black&red&white buttons on the home page are of my own making. Although.... Do you see the logos? Well, they come from the software. No download was involved here. 

public domain, sharealike, whatever.... I'll try to do it as well as possible. If you see your work but there is no/wrong attribution, email me. 

Even on this website you are still boss of your own work. We'll solve it between us. Just send me the correct names and links and I'll fix it.
