Parent Meeting Information
You and your parent/guardian(s) will need to attend a Mandatory Pre-Season team meeting on Thursday, 10/6 @ 5:30pm in the Gym. (15-20 mins)
1. Please complete the GCS student athletic fee payment online by Friday, 10/8. www.k12paymentcenter.com ($45.00 + 1.95 processing fee). Failure to do so will result in your child not playing in the first match. Please print/screenshot confirmation turn in/email to our Athletic Director, Ursula Williams at williau@gcsnc.com

2. Other items to bring to meeting completed:
Every year: TWO proofs of residency (Example: recent copies of driver’s license, utility bill, deed, voter registration, etc.)
· If you were on the 2021 girls volleyball team this does not apply to you. You are already covered.

2021 KMS Girls Soccer
Welcome to Girls' Soccer. You have already demonstrated pride in yourself and your school by coming out for this team. We at Kernodle believe in our school, our tradition, our teams, and especially you. The Girls' Soccer Team is a special family that works together to maintain high standards of excellence throughout the entire year. Our commitment to excellence is also demonstrated by following these guidelines.
PRACTICE AND PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES:
- You are expected to attend all practices and games.
- In order to be excused from practice, you should notify the coach in advance or before you check-out of school. Only miss practice for illness, medical reasons or family emergencies and always notify the coach.
- Any unexcused absences may result in dismissal from the team.
- In order to be excused from the bus ride back to Kernodle after away games, the coach must be given a note from your parents.
ACADEMIC GUIDELINES AND CONDUCT:
- You must pass 3 of their 4 core courses each semester to be eligible.
- You must have been in daily attendance 85% of the previous semester.
- You are expected to put forth your best effort in the classroom at all times.
- Everywhere you go you are expected to represent Kernodle in a positive manner. Demonstrate your pride in your school and your team through good behavior.
- Players may not participate in practices or games when in ISS / OSS or absent from school that day.
- Any player whose conduct does not promote themselves or Kernodle in a positive manner may be suspended or removed from participation at the discretion of the coach and school officials.
- Putting yourself in a position to receive discipline for class conduct is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Athletes are expected to be role models for other students.
Participation on an athletic team can enhance your educational experience. Lessons taught on the field may not be available anywhere else. Thank you for showing pride in your school, this team, and yourself. You have set yourself above others by trying out for the soccer team. I appreciate the opportunity to work with you.
