The Duty of keeping the urban environment clean and tidy
In the present juncture of politics discredit is common to criticize their futility on high state levels, but usually the levels close to people, which have a bigger impact on daily lifes of the population. The cleaning of our streets is an important subject which could make the difference between living in a comfortable First World suburb or in a ghetto full of rubbish from a failed Nation.
The solution to this problem, of course, is strongly tied to the citizenship civics but, if there is one thing that we know about our neighbours, is that they aren't going to make an effort that they are not forced to do. It is here where politic action should starts: laws againts pollution should be tougher. A worthy State has the capacity and the duty of obligating its population to be decent men and women who act as an example and inspiration for the rest of the world. Our international prestige begins with how our streets looks.
Of course, the responsability of the correct clining of the neighbourdhood can't just being delegated to the people. The public administration needs to offer apropiate services for waste management. It is widely accepted that the government have to spend more resources on keeping our cities clean. And if we have to be submitted to a superior punishments for breaking the cleaning laws we have to demand them a higher implication.
The good look of our towns and cities is a more important matter that is often valued an requires more governamental and citizien implication.
A reply to my Canadian friend about the main advantages and disadvantages of using technology for learning.
Dear Marko,
I've recently read your letter and I've been thinking about my time as a student in both highschool and university. The first years of highschool my teachers used to taught without any kind of device. We learnt only by reading books and using photocopies.
All of this changed on the third course when the internet became the perfect tool for remote studying. Soon, there were a lot of web platforms where students could join with an username to do homework by using text proccessors like Word and sending the file directly to the teacher. This was one of the first advantages that could make possible to save a lot of money because it wasn't neccesary to do such an amount of photocopies for each one of the students of the class.
By the time I started university the education system had completely changed and the web platforms had become normal. Teachers had got used to make their lessons digital. Now we can learn even watching videos on Youtube channels. I remmembered having problems with maths and one channel really saved my life so I could pass the subject.
But not everything is positive. The recent pandemic of Covid19 have exposed the problem of education technology such as students cheating during online exams or the expectancy of teachers that every family can afford to buy a computer.
Above all, there are more advantages than disadvantages in my opinion.
I hope my toughts had been useful for you.
Best wishes,
Dani.
The money is an item that is both powerful and dangerous. Everyone knows that having a reasonable amount of money can give stability to your life so it's understandable that every human on this planet wants to get a well paid job.
Having a monthly income will make you able to make your first and most important decisions in your life such as leaving the nest of your home and start thinking about a new life far from your parents home. So the more effort you do when looking for the job that suits better to your needs, the greater personal satisfaction you reach.
However, it's also important to avoid being corrupted by the anxiety of accumulating money. You musn't forget your social life because, as humans, we have been made to have relationships so that we could make a society and grow together. So my advice is to prioritise your happiness instead of your wealth.
There are a lot of celebrities like singers or football players who were corrupted by money and fell into the drugs and the alcohol. I think we have the responsibility to decide well what to do with our money for our own good.
In conclusion, we have to reach the perfect balance between free time and wealth.
Medicine and social apocalypse
We are here to talk about a current problem which menaces the twenty-first century society, and could escalate to a high social care problem and destroy the support of United States society: the rise of star surgeons over rural doctors.
Nowadays, if you want something special and you can pay for it, someone could graciously provide it for you, no matter how innecesary plastic surgery could be. But if you are an old person who lives in a village on the countryside, to will need a trip to the closest big city.
The enormous debts which a medium American medicine student acquires on university force them to work where they are going to earn more money on their future. And this place is going to be an important population with a lot of potential patients who permit the doctors earn enough money to pay their banks.
This is not just a geographical problem, United States are saturated of professionals who fix the Hollywood noses while the lack of pediatricians forsakes our children.
It used to scare me to think how such a system would react when something critical happens, but after COVID we know it. Our healthcare system is not prepared for the real needs of population.
If farmers can't find a doctor they eventually move to cities, without our primary sector we would depend on exportation. Our national autonomy is in danger.
The solution to this problem involves a remodeling of the entire university system that allows doctors to finish their studies without debts which made them to choose work far away from their towns. They are going to work for their own neighborhoods if the systems brings them that possibility.
The consumer's choice
We live in a society of comsuption. We have the huge offer of products that we can acquire than in all ages of humankind before. We can choose what we want to buy and we can choose where to buy it. We live in a time of possibilities.
But, we all this possibilities, a lot of decisions comes. Are you going to buy in a big supermarket, cheaper and with more products? Or you'd better go to classical shop on your neighboorhood, suporting local economy?Should the small sellers be more important than our advantages as consumers?
It is widely accepted that globalization is an unstopable process which will end local commerce, little sellers and, finally, national economics. Are we happpy and comfortable with being avocated to the domination of multinational enterprises just because it is easy?
Of course, a lot of my readers are now thinking "No!", a bit of younger revolutionary attitude persist in all of us. We don't feel good with summision. But we are lazy.
You know about the deforestation of Amazon committed by the company which made your favorite chocolate and still buying it. You are concerned about your pants being a result of child exploitation you don't love it less for it. Despite the catastrophic consequences of extraction of coltan you can't live without your mobile. And you are not going to go to lot of small shops in spite of made a single trip to a bigger supermarket.
We value the comfort of living in a society of comsuption more than far away misfortunes.
An opinion essay: Telling the truth
If there is one thing that makes humans different from other species is their ability to express feelings and the capability to use the reason to solve problems unlike animals, who act on instinct.
Therefore, the skill to express our feelings is very related to our way to tell something and the way we sometimes can manipulate the information as we want to be the winning part of a situtation. This is when the lies appear. At first, we could think that telling lies is bad, but in my opinion, there are kinds of lies.
The first kind of lies are the most common ones and the most used. Some psychologists have demonstrated that humans can lie in an average of more than 10 times each day. These "lies" are small and we use it for exaggerate aspects of our lives. For example we tend to lie during a conversation about how hard a moment really was or when you want to make sure you haven't had the fault. Other used to be told when you want your speech to be more attractive. Above all, these smaller lies hardly are dangerous for the others' feelings.
The second kind of lies are what we condiser "big lies" and they could broke relationships, like cheating on your partner. Big lies are too difficult to fix, and can be a way of no return.
The solution is clear, the less you lie the better. It is important to tell the truth but don't be afraid of telling small lies sometimes.
