Welcome
Welcome to the Advanced Heat Transfer Laboratory (AHTL) under the guidance of Prof. Sukkyung Kang in the Division of Mechanical Engineering at Korea Maritime & Ocean University.
Join us
The AHTL is recruiting graduate students with passionate and innovative minds. We are committed to helping our students grow into outstanding engineers and independent researchers. If you are interested in joining us, please feel free to contact Prof. Sukkyung Kang (skang@kmou.ac.kr).
About us
We focus on understanding and enhancing two-phase heat transfer in a wide range of thermal engineering systems. Our research spans two-phase closed thermosyphon (TPCT, wickless heat pipe), heat pipe heat exchanger (HPHX) for waste heat recovery, and single- and two-phase immersion cooling for data centers. By combining carefully designed experiments with theoretical analysis, we investigate the underlying heat transfer mechanisms of these systems and develop strategies to improve their thermal performance.
