WHAT IS AN IV DRIP?
An IV Drip is a type of intravenous treatment that is slowly infused into the bloodstream via a plastic catheter inserted into the vein.
To administer an IV Drip, a small plastic tube (catheter) is inserted into a vein using a needle that is then quickly removed once the plastic tube is advanced into the vein.
IV Drips are performed for 45-60 minutes and an average of 250-1000 ml of fluids are injected per session.
During a drip, clients can read, work or relax.
