The FRAX (Fracture Risk Assessment Tool) score is a valuable tool for predicting osteoporosis-related fracture risk by estimating the 10-year probability of hip and major osteoporotic fractures. It integrates key clinical risk factors—such as age, sex, BMI, smoking status, prior fractures, and glucocorticoid use—with or without bone mineral density (BMD) to provide an individualized risk assessment. By identifying high-risk individuals, the FRAX score helps guide preventive measures, including lifestyle modifications, calcium and vitamin D supplementation, and osteoporosis treatment to reduce fracture risk.
