Short Biography:
Kareth León received her BSc. Eng. in Systems Engineering in 2015, and her MSc. degree in Computer Science in 2017, both from Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), Colombia. During 2019 and 2020, she was an Intern at the Télécommunications Spatiales et Aéronautiques (TéSA) laboratory in agreement with the INP-ENSEEIHT of Toulouse, France. In 2022, she received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, with laurated thesis, from the UIS, Colombia.
Research Activities - Timeline:
From 2014 to 2021, she was an active member of the High Dimensional Signal Processing (HDSP) research group in Bucaramanga, Colombia, working in compressive sensing and coding design for high-dimensional signals acquisition.
During the same period, she also worked with the Colombian Institute of Petroleum (Instituto Colombiano Del Petróleo-ICP) in different research projects aiming to apply the compressing sensing theory in the Colombian seismic acquisition. She also was part of the developing of deep image prior methods for seismic signal reconstruction in a project funded by Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH) and the Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación (MINCIENCIAS).
In 2022, she has been recognized as Junior Researcher (Investigador Junior) from the Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (MinCiencias) of Colombia.
In January 2022, Dr. León joined the University of Toulouse as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (IRIT) within the MINDS research group in Toulouse, France. She worked developing a segmentation method based on multifractal analysis and Bayesian theory.
In September 2023, she started to work in collaboration with the industry to develop anomaly detection methods based on graph signal processing.
In Mars 2025, she joined the ONERA Lab for working on machine learning for remote sensing applications.
She serves as reviewer in:
