“Kleinoever is a small tiny house community that combines the benefits of tiny living with living on water. The goal of the community is to work and live together to have a positive impact on the environment, the municipality, their direct surroundings, and to preserve historic value.”
The Leenman site is an underdeveloped piece of land on the edge of the city of Zwolle. The location has lots of existing infrastructure but it lacks large plots of land that might be suitable for Tiny Houses. That’s why Klein Oever has opted to build on the water. The site also has lots of historic value in its roots. History that needs to be preserved, the site’s infrastructure might be repurposed for other uses but existing buildings will be kept in its current form.
Klein Oever has three pillars to keep in mind what is most important.
Klein Oever implements sustainability into multiple factors in the community, from limiting waste to sharing resources, but also to take care of their surroundings and keep the planet healthy.
Instead of living alone in a bubble Klein Oever is focused on living together, but also providing space to retreat.
To achieve a nice community everything is done together. There is a large team building aspect involved to create a community together and for each other.
