We are interested in integrating color centers (orange) like nitrogen vacancy centers into a magnetic environment (blue) to utilize and control nonlocal correlations. These systems are bridging elements of spintronics and quantum optics: the color centers can be initialized and read out using optical lasers, while correlations in the magnet can be engineered using spintronic control.
In the weak tunneling regime, electron transport from source (S) to drain (D) through a nanoscale device (blue) can be monitored electron by electron in real time (see electron occupation in telegraph signal). Using statistical tools like full counting statistics, we can eavesdrop on the electron transport and infer information beyond the average current and current noise.
We study the topological transport in magnetic solid state systems. Given the order parameter, homotopic considerations lead to topological continuity equations for winding, vortices, skyrmions, hedgehogs, and hopfions, etc. Using spintronic torques, these objects can be electrically biased and controlled. The resulting coupled electric and topological circuits pave the way for new topology-based devices.
