B.S., Biology, Georgia Gwinnett College, 2022
Hannah is studying stream connectivity in the Uchee Creek Watershed by investigating the effects culverts have on fish assemblage structure and fish movement.
MS Student
B.A., Biology, Bowdoin College, 2023
Owen is working on a project in collaboration with the AU Museum of Natural History and Troy University to characterize blackwater wetlands in South Alabama. Specifically, he will be characterizing fish assemblages and assessing differences between blackwater and non-blackwater wetlands.
MS Student
B.S., Ecological Engineering, Auburn University, 2025
Alli is studying habitat suitability of Spring Pygmy Sunfish (Elassoma alabamae), a federally threatened species, in the Middle Tennessee River Basin. Her work includes modeling habitat suitability, then ground-truthing the most promising locations to determine actual habitat suitability and to characterize the fish assemblage at each site.
MS Student
B.S., Clemson University, 2024
Adam is developing a habitat suitability model for the Broadstripe Shiner Pteronotropis euryzonus, and ground-truthing the model by surveying for the species in areas of highest and lowest probability and collecting habitat data to compare against modeled parameters.
Undergraduate Research Fellow
Zara is an undergraduate student in the Environmental Sciences Program. She is working to improve our understanding of how seasonality affects the use of a macroinvertebrate rapid bioassessment in the Uchee Creek System, which is a Strategic Habitat Unit for the state.
Undergraduate Researcher
Maria is an undergraduate student in the Environmental Sciences Program. She has helped conduct field work in support of several graduate student projects.
Undergraduate Researcher
Clara is an undergraduate student in the Environmental Sciences Program. She is studying whether culverts impact the structure of macroinvertebrate assemblages in streams in the Uchee Creek System.
Undergraduate Researcher
Gabby is an undergraduate student in the Environmental Sciences Program. She is conducting critical work completing Stream Crossing Assessments in the Uchee Creek watershed and Ballplay Creek watershed. The results of these assessments will be summarized and shared with partners so they can prioritize stream crossings with the greatest need for restoration.
