Dr. Kabiruddin Khan (ORCID, Google Scholar, ResearchGate), is the Founder, CEO, and Scientific Director of a recent start-up company "In Silico Solutions". Concurrently, he is also associated with/handling several scientific projects in various well-established companies as part of their core scientific team.
Dr. Khan obtained his PhD from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Jadavpur University under the guidance of Dr. Kunal Roy on 17th May 2022. For his PhD, he worked on the development of quantitative structure-toxicity relationship (QSTR) models for ecotoxicities of pharmaceuticals and personnel care products (PPCPs) on aquatic organisms (Link). He completed his B. Pharmacy (2015) degree from Goa College of Pharmacy (Link), Panaji, Goa, and his M.S. in Pharmacy (2017) degree from NIPER, Kolkata (Link). Dr. Khan’s research interests include QSTR and molecular modeling with special reference to the ecotoxicity of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics against aquatic species. Dr. Khan has published 12 research articles in various referred journals. He has also published 7 book chapters in reputed publishing houses. He is also a recipient of several national and international awards from various funding agencies including DST-SERB, CSIR, UGC, ICMR, RUSA, and CMTPI-2019. His expertise lies in the development of computational methods/models for designing chemicals (i.e. pharmaceuticals, personnel care products, endocrine disruptor chemicals, organic chemicals, nanomaterials, ionic liquids, etc.) that are safer for human health and the environment. Additionally, his performed research has attracted significant audiences across the globe mainly from Europe, the US, and Asia (above 300+ citations in less than 5 years). The models co-developed by him and colleagues on the mutagenicity of nitro and amino aromatic compounds against Salmonella typhimurium species have been incorporated into a commercial software “AlvaRunner Project” developed by the AlvaScience group based in Milan, Italy (Link).
