Here is information on the VAF MicroFlush controller.

Configuring The Microflush:

• to change fields use the up down key when not in editing mode
• to edit a field press star, change the data to the desired value, then press star again
• to exit a submenu scroll all the way down

The first thing you will need to do is scroll to access code and enter the correct code.

the menu options are listed below:

Manual Backflush: press star

Backflush all-flush all filters in order

Backflush F1-flush filter 1 only

Backflush F2-flush filter 2 only

Backflush F3-flush filter 3 only

Backflush F4-flush filter 4 only

WARNING: manually flushing a filter or filters disables all safetly sensors and inputs, be careful.

note: only filters you have programmed will show up in this menu

Datalog Menu: press star

backflush count-total backflushes including manual ones

int backflushes-total interval backflushes

ext-dp backflushes-total differential pressure backflushes

intrvl b-f /hr-the amount of interval backflushes in the last hour

ext-dp b-f /hr-the amount of differential pressure backflushes in the last hour

last intrvl b-f-time since the last interval backflush

last ext-dp b-f-time since the last differential pressure backflush

total b-f time-total time the controller had a backflush valve open for

total on time-total time the controller has been on

time since powered up last-the time since ac power was applied to the controller

backflush reset?-reset all datalog values, press star to clear values

software revision-this is the rev of your microflush

note: the datalog menu can be viewed without a password but cannot be cleared

settings menu: press star

max flushes/hr-the maximum amount of flushes that may occur in a period of one hour

flushes/hr action-how the microflush will handle excessive flushes per hour

max b-f attempts-maximum amount of retries a backflush can have if the signal is still there

max bf att actn-how the microflush handles excessive flush attempts

actions:

• disabled-the controller will not do anything if the setting is exceeded
• alarm-an alarm will show and alarm outputs will activate
• stop-the microflush will end the current flush
• alarm + stop-the microflush will end the current flush and set off alarm outputs

timing menu: press star

backflush time-the time each filter is flushed for

backflush interval-how often the filters are flushed (if enabled)

master dwell-the time between a master valve activation and the first filter being flushed

multi filter dwell-the time between each filter being flushed

diff ext-dp start-delay the ext-dp sensor must activate for a flush to be activated

aux timings: these only show up if you have the feature enabled

no filter flow delay-delay for the no filter flow alarm

backflush flow delay-delay for the excessive backflush flow alarm

assign inputs: press star

input 1-input 1 assignment

input 2-input 2 assignment

input types:

• stop-stops the current flush or prevents flushes from happening when activated
• pause-pauses the current flush when activated, will pick up where it left off when returned to normal, this input also will prevent future flushes from happening when activated
• ext-dp flush-connect to a differential pressure sensor to activate flushes automatically
• reset faults-resets any alarms currently on the microflush when activated
• b-f flow switch no-flush waste flow switch for valve failure alarms (normally open)
• b-f flow switch nc-flush waste flow switch for valve failure alarms (normally closed)
• filter flow switch no-water flow switch for monitoring flow through the filter and causing an alarm if flow stops (normally open)
• filter flow switch nc-water flow switch for monitoring flow through the filter and causing an alarm if flow stops (normally closed)

assign outputs: press star

output 1-output 1 or master valve assignment

output 2-output 2 or filter 1 assignment

output 3-output 3 or filter 2 assignment

output 4-output 4 or filter 3 assignment

output 5-output 5 or filter 4 assignment

output types:

• disabled-output not being used
• master valve-valve to redirect flow or general master valve when filters are flushing
• filter valve 1-4-flush valves for filters 1-4
• fault-activates when there is at least 1 fault on the controller
• no fault-activates when there is no fault on the controller
• backflushing-activates when at least filter is being flushed
• not backflushing-activates when no filters are being flushed

configuration menu: press star

power mode-use ac mode if you have a mains powered microflush, use battery mode for a battery or solar powered microflush

note: battery mode slows down the checking of the sensors and limits the outputs to dc powered latching valves, also the display and update led turns off with no activity, press any key to turn them back on

interval flushing enable-enables interval flushing or sets it to flush only by ext-dp

set access code-used to set the password on the microflush

notes:

• the valves are 24V AC powered when in ac mode
• if you need a dry contact relay output, wire the output to the relay coil contacts on the top right of the power supply board. the relay is rated at 10 amps
• only program the microflush if you are authorized to and it is yours
• to reset the microflush to default config power it down, open it and hold down the "initialize key on the processor board, then power it up and wait for it to display config reset on the display.
• also never work on the controller when it is powered, always ensure all power is off before servicing because it has 240vac or 115vac contacts inside and you could be killed if you touch them.
