Biography

Before Portland, KJ was a staple of the Chicago comedy community. He performed on The Second City's main stage (u.s.), toured in Cards Against Humanity's The Late Night Writer's Room, and sold out a run of his solo comedy hour Carrot Bottom. A part of the sketch comedy troupe Huggable Riot from 2017-2022, he wrote and performed five original sketch shows and directed two shows while running the circuit of improv, sketch, and stand up.

In 2016, KJ graduated from Reed College with a B.A. in Theatre. He performed in productions of Julius Caesar and Eurydice, where he played Caesar and Orpheus respectively. 

In his senior year, he directed Antigone and created an original thesis show Beneath Your Feet using historical documents related to Oregon's division of land to create the script to explore the concept of documentary theater. 

In his hometown of Charlottesville, VA, KJ performed in community theaters Live Arts and Play On, where he performed as a minor in an adult cast of Tom Stoppard's Arcadia.
