The Problem: The vehicle refused to crank after a mechanical workshop replaced the starter motor twice. The owner was facing high costs with zero results.
Our Diagnostic Scan: Using our diagnostic equipment, we analyzed live starting-circuit data and identified that the ECU was never sending the start-enable command due to high resistance and corrosion in the main transmission ground strap.
The Repair: Replaced the damaged ground section, cleaned the chassis contact points, and restored full factory grounding continuity.
The Result: The bakkie started instantly on the first turn of the key, saving the customer from buying unnecessary control modules.
The Problem: A private motorist lost their primary key set and was stranded at a local residential area in Northam. The dealership required the car to be towed and quoted a 14-day turnaround.
Our Diagnostic Scan: Our mobile diagnostic team arrived on-site with the Autel MaxiIM IM508S, accessed the immobilizer security data through the OBD port, and synchronized the system.
The Repair: Cut two new physical key blades and programmed two transponder remote chips directly into the vehicle's immobilizer module.
The Result: Vehicle unlocked, paired, and driving within 90 minutes on the same day.
The Problem: The battery went completely dead every 48 hours. Two new batteries had already been fitted, but the issue kept returning.
Our Diagnostic Scan: We conducted a full auto-electrical parasitic draw test across all interior and engine fuse boxes, measuring a severe resting current draw of 0.85A (standard should be under 0.05A).
The Repair: Traced the excessive load to an internally shorted relay on an aftermarket auxiliary harness that remained powered when the ignition was off. Rewired and isolated the auxiliary circuit with a dedicated ignition-triggered relay.
The Result: Resting current dropped to normal factory levels (0.03A), permanently solving the battery drain issue without replacing the alternator.
