MODIFIED_BOOT_FILE

Meaning

This error code indicates that the boot.sys file, containing code crucial for startup, has been modified in a way that doesn't allow the desktop to show.

Fix

On the boot manager screen before loading all the system stuff, press Y if it asks you to reinstall a system, or leave blank until it asks if you want to load from existing archive, in which press Y if you want to.
