The Kiwanis Club of Marietta Golden K was chartered February 9, 1991 as a member club of Kiwanis International.
Kiwanis International was founded January 21, 1915. Kiwanis International has some 8,000 clubs in over 80 nations and geographic areas.
Kiwanis service emphasis is Young Children which focuses on the special needs of children from prenatal development through young maturity. Kiwanis also undertakes various Community and Civic projects which benefit all ages.
While service is, to a large degree, what being a Kiwanian is all about, membership offers much more. Club Meetings provide interesting programs, fun, and great fellowship that is sincere and lasting.
The Objects of Kiwanis are:
To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
To promote the adoption and application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
To develop by precept and example a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
To provide through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships.
To render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill
