Buddies

Once a week, as older buddies, the 7th graders have the privilege of mentoring 2nd and 3rd graders. Each trimester, students are paired with a different younger buddy. (The 8th graders mentor kindergarten and first grade buddies). They get to bond, develop skills, build community and better know one another through play, games, art, song, dance, theater activities, peer reading, learning opportunities, and various other fun and creative projects. In only a few precious years, the little buddies grow to become the big buddies, passing on the skills and knowledge they had learned from the previous generation.
