Kitesurfing courses in Lo Stagnone - Sicily
Kite Lab is a kitesurf school based in Lo Stagnone, on the west coast of Sicily. The school offers professional kitesurf lessons in one of the safest and most beginner-friendly kite spots in Europe, while also providing ideal conditions for riders looking to improve their skills.
Lo Stagnone is a large, shallow lagoon with flat water, steady winds and no waves. These conditions allow riders to focus on learning and progression in a relaxed and secure environment, without the stress often found in more exposed spots.
Kite Lab provides individual and semi-private kitesurf lessons adapted to each rider’s level and goals. Whether you are a complete beginner or already riding independently, the teaching approach is personalised and flexible, depending on wind conditions and progression speed.
Lessons are taught by experienced instructors using modern equipment and radio communication, which allows constant feedback during sessions and helps speed up learning. Many students reach independence quickly thanks to the combination of professional coaching and ideal conditions.
Kite Lab offers transparent and flexible pricing for both lessons and equipment rental. Individual kitesurf lessons cost €70 per hour for the first four hours, then €60 per hour from the fifth hour onwards. There is no obligation to book a fixed number of hours in advance: lessons can be scheduled day by day depending on wind conditions and progression.
For independent riders, full equipment rental (kite, board, harness and safety gear) is available at €75 per day, regardless of time spent on the water. For rentals longer than five days, the price is reduced to €60 per day. If equipment is rented on the same day as a lesson, a discounted rate of €45 applies. Riders can change kites or boards during the day depending on conditions.
Lo Stagnone is especially known as a top destination for learning kitesurfing. The shallow water over a wide area makes it possible to stand almost everywhere, which increases confidence and reduces fatigue during lessons. There are no waves or strong currents, making it easier to concentrate on kite control, board skills and body position.
These conditions are also ideal for riders who want to refine their technique, work on transitions, freestyle basics or foil riding in flat water.
One of the strengths of Kite Lab is its flexible organisation. There is no need to plan all lessons in advance: sessions are scheduled according to wind conditions and student availability. This approach allows riders to make the most of their stay in Sicily, without pressure or rigid timetables.
The school welcomes riders from all over Europe and beyond, creating an international and friendly atmosphere both on and off the water. Many visitors appreciate the relaxed vibe and the balance between sport, travel and lifestyle.
Kitesurfing in Sicily is not only about time on the water. Lo Stagnone offers a unique setting between nature reserves, salt flats and small islands, just a short distance from Marsala and local Sicilian towns. After a session, riders can enjoy local food, sunsets over the lagoon and the slow rhythm that characterises life in this part of the island.
This combination of sport and lifestyle is one of the reasons why many people return to Kite Lab year after year.
Kite Lab is located directly at Lo Stagnone lagoon, near Marsala, Sicily. The area is easily accessible from Trapani and Palermo airports and offers a wide range of accommodation options nearby.
