Vazgurd is a very strong and gifted hellhound and nowadays is Captain of the Hellhound Sentinels–an elite group of guardsmen used across the nine circles of hell comprised entirely of hellhounds. This didn’t come without dedication and hard work, of course. Vazgurd has always had a bit of a superiority complex; boasting of his strengths and skills. However, it’s not all just hot air as he will be more than happy to demonstrate on those who think to question his abilities. But it was both these skills and his dedication to wanting to be “above” others that landed him the position of Captain.

Vazgurd is actually a natural denizen of hell; that is, he was born and raised in hell. There are actually two distinctive types of demons that roam the nine circles of hell: those who are born in hell from demons and Earthly souls that transform into demons upon their descent into hell. (Not all who descend become demons and determining what factors play into who becomes and who doesn’t is actually a popular topic of research and debate amongst magical scholars both Earth bound and Hell bound.) However, there are no physical or often magical differences between “natural” and “created”, but most who are “created” chose not to reveal that to most, when given the choice, for fear of discrimination etc.

It was in his early years that Vazgurd started to take on learning the arcane and all the abilities it has to offer. He has mastered summoning and controlling surges of hellfire to use in battle and has mastered a few hexes as well. However, he does know a few other things and is always on the hunt to learn and discover more in the infinite path of the arcane. As he became more exposed to the arcane, purple markings started to appear across his body and when he is casting, they will start to glow (along with his horns and head gem).

When Vazgurd learned about another hellhound named Voz’rukk, he was delighted to hear about the hound’s path of blood he left in his wake. Despite Vazgurd having a superiority complex, there are few he will allow to stand evenly with him; which include his fellow Sentinels and now this hound. He convinced Voz’rukk into putting in the work to join the ranks of the Sentinels and personally took on the project of training Voz’rukk to be accepted officially by Hell’s nobility. Once that was completed, Vazgurd would start to teach Voz’rukk the ways of the arcane.
