Kita (born as Gedy) Warheit was born to Meh'ty and Mau Warheit in a small forest village called Gugune, whose ruling deity is a Time God named Chronos. From a young age, she was fascinated with glamour and illusion magic, picking it up at an early age and taking it with her for the rest of her life to come; honing it and becoming proficient in it. At just ten years old, she was recruited along with others, including her childhood friend Maeh'g, to be ambassadors for their deity, traveling different lands and across universes to recruit new followers to Chronos. Chronos gifted her with the ability to easily travel between worlds and universes and instructed her to travel to as many places as she could. So she did. Starting off so young, she barely knew where to start or what to do, but this was the will of her god, and so she threw herself into the unknown with Maeh'g, figuring they had better chances by sticking together.
By thirteen, she was witness to her first war: the civil war of the Humans and Mykiwes in Lensay. Here, she would be cared for by a man named Baba and a woman named Cirama. Though her young heart wanted to help, both refused to let her be active in the war. They did, however, teach her valuable skills such as swordplay and healing spells. Both were flabbergasted that any god could send a mere child out into the world at such a young age with virtually nothing. It was during this time that Kita and Maeh'g also separated, choosing to go on two separate paths to widen their search of worlds. Kita stayed under their care for two years.
By fifteen, she moved on from Lensay and met a young boy her age named Zek, finding him in the city of Moulin à Vent Rouge. Though young, his skills in the world of thieves was renowned. When meeting Kita, he offered to teach her the skills of a thief as they began to bond with one another. She accepted and together they traveled far and wide in search of exotic treasures. It was during her travels with Zek, did Kita start to uncover hidden, ancient truths about her god, Chronos, and began to question his ways and his teachings--a lot of what she learned in her time away from Gugune did not reflect what she was taught growing up and this deeply upset her.
By eighteen, Kita returned to Gugune, hardened from her years of travel and grown, and having much to say to her "god". She announced her cease and desist from spreading his word and called him out on his lies and hypocrisies. Angered, Chronos stripped away her ability to world travel, cursed her with infertility (so as to never continue her "wretched bloodline"), and cast her out, shoving her off into a random world far from Gugune.
After being cast out, she landed in Zanimasy. Having only the clothes on her back, a knife at her waist, and no way to go anywhere she could call home, she struggled out in the streets. Her salvation came in the form of a man named Dyen: Grandmaster of a secret clan of assassins. While trying to pickpocket him and, failing to do so, tried to attack, he admired her handiwork. He could see she had potential so he took her in to his clan and trained her personally, honing her skills and discipline. She stayed there for many years before being found again by Afynt and Cirama. The two took her back to where she would now call home but she would not forget her time in Zanimasy.
Over the months, Kita and Afynt developed a new way to world travel and, with his help and knowledge, became successful in creating their own way to travel worlds. Now, Kita was back on her feet and ready to explore for her own sake of wanting to visit and learn as much as she could. She's met many people and been to many places over the years since being cast out from Gugune. While she still occasionally adventures, she's made her own home now in Sallenata, where she focuses on her own life and perfecting her illusion magic skills. (Nowadays she uses her illusions for her own sake or as a quick defense/getaway if ever in a sticky situation while traveling!)
Kita is a light skinned half-elf with pointed ears. She has heterochromia with her right eye being blue and her left eye being green. She has short, fire-red hair (natural). When she's relaxing at home, she tends to wear heavy metal band t-shirts, jeans, and combat boots. When she's out adventuring, she wears a black tunic outfit that's red lined and has a hood; with the right arm being torn off. She wears boots, gauntlets, and has a half breast plate on the ride side with the symbol of a gold dragon with a red gemstone for the eye.
Kita is bubbly and full of energy! She's kind and loyal to a fault and can be quick with a few jokes or light teasing. But don't let her cheerful demeanor fool you--when she needs to be, she can be quite serious! While it takes some pushing, when she's mad, she can be lethal. For the most part though she's easy going and just wants to be friends with everyone.
Alyx: Best friend and housemate. A sea dragon capable of taking on a human form. Kita rescued him from poachers out on the Uidad peninsula. From there, she would visit the same beach nearly every day until they started to bond. Now, they're inseparable.
Baba: A red-maned lion male Mykiw that took her in during a period of time during her stay in the country of Lensay. A cleric and cook in the Mykiw and Human civil war, he taught her light healing spells and some of his most famous recipes. Even to this day, she still refers to him as an "Uncle" of sorts, visiting often when she's not busy at home.
Cirama: A white wolf female Mykiw that also took her in during her stay in Lensay. They formed such a close bond with each other during her months there that they now refer to each other as sisters, with Cirama being the eldest sibling. Cirama taught Kita how to properly fight with a sword and even some hand-to-hand combat skills.
Cryt'Uf: A shape shifting shadow being, Kita had summoned this creature (prefers a male identity) during a time of need after defecting from Gugune and Chronos. They formed a pact and bond with each other and now he permanently resides in Kita's shadow. He tends to get into whatever media she's into and copies some forms of different art and designs he likes. He's a great tracker for any missions she's on.
Ruben: A forest dragon capable of taking on human form, he feels he owes a great debt and servitude to Kita for her rescue. Being passed from master to master, he was being sold in the city of Moulin à Vent Rouge when Kita came around to offer the highest bid. Afterwards, she simply set him free, wanting nothing from him. Moved by her kind heart, he chose to stay by her as a friend. Now, he acts as a guardian to her and others.
Zek: Also known as the "Prince of Bandits" due to his recognizable skill, they met when they were young and he taught Kita the skills she would need to start her own path to becoming a rogue. He was also her first love interest but, due to needing to travel, nothing became of it. They still communicate to this day as they can however. He nicknamed her his "Princess", adding on to the theme of the name given to him. Together, they were a force not to be reckoned with.
Afynt: A potion maker from another world, his home was destroyed by the ancient beings simply referred to as "World Eaters". Kita rescued him and a few others, transporting them back to her world mere moments before doom. With no where else to go, he, Kita, and Cirama decided to set up shop in Kita's current home world and build a community for those lost or whose homes have been taken over by World Eaters. He also worked with Kita and developed a strange new way to universe travel through sigils and conjuring.
Dyen: Grandmaster of an assassin tribe, he picked Kita off of the streets in Zanimasy, impressed with her skills in stealth and combat. But with Dyen, Kita could hone her skills even further, growing as an assassin by trade. She served for a few years under Dyen before going off on her own once again, taking her own path in life, yet still being indebted to Dyen and his clan.
Alexia: A shapeshifter (prefers a female identity) slave that was passed around the market and sold to the most depraved of men to fulfill their darkest fantasies. Finding her up on the auction block and seeing her demeanor, Kita couldn't help but feel pity, slaughtering her former "master" and taking her for herself. However, Kita only wishes for her freedom, but Alexia still has yet to break free of the mindset of a slave and waits for anything Kita would ask of her.
Dephyn: A hawk male Mykiw that was given a home through the efforts of Afynt and company, he also doubles as Kita's personal mailer and messenger. He appears to be blind but in reality he can see just fine. Not much is known about him or his home life since he refuses to speak on the subject but he enjoys working for Kita.
Maeh'g: A childhood friend of hers, they grew up in the same village and were sent out to do Chronos's bidding at the same time. While Kita ended up defecting from the Time God, Maeh'g did not. Regardless, this did not deter their friendship and they remain good friends to this day, albeit sparse in communication with one another.
--> What is a Mykiw? A mykiw is a race that is part human and part animal--a fusion of two souls into one. Mykiwes generally take on some appearance of their animal side while in human form (mostly tails and ears, perhaps a few other traits in certain cases like markings) and they range in species. Mykiwes can freely shift between human and animal form at will.
Kita's parents were born in Outworld and fled to EarthRealm while her mother was pregnant with her, wanting to be free from the harsh realities of Shao Kahn's rule. With Lord Raiden's blessing, they settled into EarthRealm life rather easily, taking refuge in a small mountain town in China. They did their best to hide their heritage as half-elves, remnants of a long forgotten Realm that was taken over by Shao Kahn, its people having no where else to go besides Outworld. When Kita was finally born, she was raised with no knowledge of her former home, her parents hoping for a long term stay in EarthRealm for generations to come. While her ears were easy to dismiss as a birth deformity and her magical knowledge suppressible, Kita's curiosity knew no bounds. She would explore every part of her village growing up, even extending out to nearby villages.
Peace wouldn't last long, however. When she was 15, there was an attack on her village from Outworld spies and assassins, sent by one of Shao Kahn's men to route out and kill any refugees that had fled to EarthRealm. While Kita's existence was unknown to Shao Kahn's men, she was able to hide and escape murder while the rest of the town was slaughtered for housing her parents; including her parents. Now orphaned, she turned to the only one she knew could answer her pleas: the Thunder God Raiden. Traveling and making her way to the Sky Temple, she sought out his knowledge to learn why her family was targeted. While Raiden lamented over the death of her parents, he permitted her the knowledge of her heritage and told her everything. While he offered her refuge amongst the White Lotus, she declined, heading back to the remnants of her home town to make that her starting point and find her own way to navigate the rest of her life. She had a lot to think about and decide.
Traveling from town to town; city to city; she never stayed in one place long. She learned to use stealth and deception to her advantage to survive her now broken life. However, she got accustomed to this sort of vagabond type of life, and she would spend years of her life like this until one day she ran into a Lin Kuei recruiter. With the promise of stability, food, shelter, and more, she eagerly accepted, trying hard to forget her now past life as she joined the ranks of Lin Kuei. While she started at the bottom with no semblance of duty, honor, or discipline, she quickly grew and adapted, rising in ranks faster than any recruit in her class. She even caught the eye of the Grandmaster himself, who offered to personally train her. Even though she was seemingly content in her life, something still tugged at her soul. Was she really loyal to EarthRealm? She knew hardly anything of her parent's world and she wanted to know everything.
Eventually, the call to Outworld was too hard to ignore and she defected from the Lin Kuei, making her way back to the Sky Temple to all but demand passage to Outworld. By now, Shao Kahn had been vanquished and Outworld was being ruled over by Kotal Kahn, a far more beneficial ruler. Raiden was hesitant at first, but eventually gave in and sent Kita to Outworld. It was difficult at first, as Kita tried to navigate the rough terrain and even more rough residents of a new Realm. But, like in the Lin Kuei, she was quick to adapt and learn. Eventually, she decided to try to strike up her luck at becoming a mercenary. With her training in EarthRealm, it would be the perfect way to earn a living in Outworld, where she had planned to stay. It was a difficult decision as there were many things to be done while becoming a mercenary; mainly making a name for herself as someone capable. After some months of being in Outworld, she eventually ran into famed mercenary and Kahn guard; Erron Black. Through some talk, Erron would eventually offer her some help in establishing herself in Outworld and even teach her about the Realm itself. Kita now had a chance to make a life for herself--a life she wanted.

Kita Warheit, a young beorc woman, was born in Begnion, near the coast, closer to the border of Goldoa. Growing up, though they were relatively close to Gallia and Goldoa, her parents--much like many other beorc during this time period--resented the laguz. However, young Kita was fascinated by their stories and imagery and came to develop sympathy for her unknown neighbors. She was particularly enamored with the stories of the bird tribes and vowed that one day she would meet and befriend a laguz. However, she was quickly reprimanded by her father especially for these wishes and she learned quickly she must hide her true feelings to her beorc kin. It was a burden for her to hide such feelings deep down, always confused and upset about how other regarded the laguz. Why must their two worlds be so different?
The youngest of three children in a poor village, Kita grew up with her family on a small farm, where she would learn animal husbandry. Her mother was well versed in plants and herbs, seeing as clerical services did not come cheap in their region, and she passed down her knowledge to all three of her children. As she grew, her young fascination with laguz never wavered and she felt it set her apart from nearly everyone in her village--and she assumed Begnion as a whole. When she turned 16, she bid her home village a bittersweet goodbye and moved on to a larger city more inland, where she decided to try her hand at becoming a mercenary. It was difficult, but she managed to find someone who would show her the ropes, and found a small troop of vigilantes to join up with. She knew she would need the skills and the coin to achieve her ultimate, secret dream in life from when she vowed as a child: sail to Phoenicis and meet and befriend at least one laguz. At the time, she was ignorant to the fact that prejudices ran both directions.
When she was 19, she had learned enough of the sword to be decently proficient--and just in time. With Daein launching its attack on Crimea, she grew nervous of what was to happen next. Was Begnion safe? Surely so; they were much larger than Daein, but she still couldn't shake the growing unease as war waged around her. Just a year later, she took all her funds and what few possessions she had and made her way back to the coast to find a privateer to take her to Phoenicis. It was a more difficult task than she anticipated; no one wanted to sail that close to hawk territory, as she learned, because of all the attacks on Begnion ships. Eventually, she found someone that would sail her to her destination, for a hefty fee. They set sail and without flags, making a swift trip to the tip of Phoenicis with the miracle of being safe the entire way. Once arrived, she was dropped off, and the privateer wasted no time in departing from the place, leaving Kita all alone. Either this would work or she would be forever stranded.
Making her way inland to Phoenicis, she traveled for a good while, before she was confronted by two hawk laguz. She tried to explain her plight to them, but they wouldn't hear her; instead running her off back to shore. Now she really felt stranded; all alone in a foreign land with no way back home. Her fragile childhood dreams were shattering and she felt lost. However, the tides would soon turn in her favor... Two days went by as she was stranded on shore, hoping and praying for someone to save her somehow, using what minimal knowledge she had to survive off of the land. It was on that second day did she see another hawk flying in, unsteadily, and coming closer to shore. She was frightened at first, fearful she would just be run off like the others, but when they crash landed onto shore, she found herself springing into action. The man's wounds were bad and, while she was no healer, she knew just enough to help him get back on his feet. The man struggled and protested about this mere human woman trying to aid him, but eventually he had no fight left in him, and let her work as she saw fit. It took days for him to regain his strength; all the while Kita dressed his wounds, fed him, and kept him safe. In turn, this hawk slowly let his guard down, willing to hear what had brought such a strange woman all the way to Phoenicis. She lamented her tale; having always felt outcast for her views on the laguz, and wanted to be with them instead. He laughed, but found it endearing and a strange change of pace on how beorc normally viewed those like himself. When he was healed enough to make the trek back to his home, he revealed his name to her: Janaff. The King's right hand man. And with his name, Janaff extended his somewhat still reluctant thanks for her aid and offered her a chance to speak to their king about a potential home in Phoenicis.
From there, Kita would have her chance to speak to Tibarn, the king of Phoenicis, and prove herself as not like any other beorc as they've encountered before...
Kita Warheit (a full human in this AU) moved to a small apartment in Manhattan about a year before the initial outbreak. Her life moving from Georgia to New York was a major adjustment to be had, but she adapted well. Eventually, as news about the infection started to rise, she realized her options for escaping were becoming less and less. Packing a small bag of mementos, she left her apartment behind, and set out to try to escape the island. While she maneuvered through Blackwatch patrols, she eventually ran into Alex Mercer--a mysterious man who knew more about what was going on than she ever could have. They agreed to travel together and, as they did, he protected her and watched over her every step of the way. When she finally discovered just who and what he really was, none of it seemed to matter to her. She owed him her life. And from there, they decided they would find a way to escape Manhattan: together.
As they worked on their escape, Alex battled against Blackwatch soldiers, and Kita gathered supplies for their future life outside of Manhattan (such as stealing a bag full of cash from the abandoned bank). Eventually, they ended up stealing a patrol boat and making it over to the mainland, where they would meet up with Dana Mercer in her apartment. While Alex and Kita had shared moments of intimacy before their escape, she had not thought about potential pregnancies until now. Hearing Kita's concerns, Alex told her about how the virus truly breeds--at will, via oviposition. In Dana's small apartment, Kita made the realization that it wasn't just the fact that she owed Alex her life a dozen times over; she wanted to be with him. For life. With that realization, Kita asked Alex to breed her. And he did so, giving her three eggs to grow.
Being so close to Manhattan still made the pair nervous still and they knew they had to get far, far away. Kita voiced she had a good friend, Mar, down in Florida that she knew would be happy to host them until they found a place to call their own. Dana gave the duo her car as a parting gift and they made the eighteen hour drive down to middle Florida. Here, they would stay with Mar for a week before they eventually found an old, foreclosed, two story farm house on five acres of land located in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The perfect little mountain home far enough from any big city noise where they could live their life with their soon to be children in peace. With more than enough money to put the down payment on it and furnish it how they wanted, they bid Mar farewell and moved up to the mountains of Georgia.
The eggs grew fast, in only a few weeks times, before they were ready. It was an early winter morning when Kita was due to birth the three eggs and Alex was by her side, ready to help at a moment's notice. Eventually, the eggs hatched into little newborn Blacklight babies... Two boys and one girl. David, James, and Alexia. Alexia was the calmest and most human like as she clawed out of her egg. James had broken free from his egg with a violent force, looking more infected than human, before his tiny eyes shifted between the three of them and he shifted forms to mimic a small infant. David had been somewhere in between; coming out of his shell as smoothly as Alexia but those sharp eyes were far too predatory to be fully human.
Kita learned with Alex how to care for these Blacklight babies, the first few days caring for them like normal infants. But they grew fast--too fast. Eventually after a week they were devouring raw meat like it was going out of style--and Kita eventually started becoming friendly with their local butcher. The babies didn't need rest, much like Alex didn't, and so when Kita needed sleep, Alex would take over caring for them. He started to take them out at night, down to the bustling city of Atlanta, to learn how to hunt. Consuming people would help them grow more and, in turn, teach them about the world via memory assimilation. (Putting them through schooling was something Kita wasn't sure how she was going to handle but this proved to be the best option.)
As they grew (and depending on who they devoured), they learned how both to "be human" and how to use their powers and bodies. They learned a lot about the world and quickly, thanks to Alex. They acted and played like normal children would from time to time, often bickering with each other like normal siblings would (though at times their Blacklight nature would come out and Alex had to break up many a play fight turned to brawl). David was the brains of the children, always speaking technically, always thinking strategically, and always curious about how things worked. The "nerd" of the group, if you will--and a particular fascination with Kita's collection of classic tales like Faust and Dante's Inferno. James was the little menace of the group; picking up on slang, causing destruction (and the almost consumption of the neighbor's pet dog), loud, but full of life. The wild child of the three, who hissed at his mother's cheek kisses and picked on David for whatever novel of their mother's he was in the middle of. Alexia was more of a blank canvas as she had yet to develop her own personality, more so analyzing everything critically and stripping everything to its core values. But, still she was curious, just as they all were, as they grew and navigated the fine line between virus and human.
