Don't forget that PE is not always about 'fitness', it's also about social interaction and having fun! This is still possible at home it might just take a little creativity :) Use the challenges below as a source of inspiration to come up with your own creative tasks.

Bop It / Keep Up Challlenge

Check out the video which includes some pros, and some average Joe's attempting to keep various objects up as long as they can.

  • Objects: paper balls, balloons, balls, birdies

  • Be Creative: use your feet, hands, head, knees...up to you!

EVIDENCE: Upload your video of your best attempts using two different techniques OR two different objects and include a comment about your highest number scored.

WEEK 5

Create Your Own HOCKEY Game

Whether you know it or not, all your MS-HS PE Teachers are Canadian, and we're sad because our the sport which is our pride and joy - has been cancelled due to corona. BUT, you can help ease our pain by creating your own hockey game, or playing the versions in the videos below.

  • Purpose: Score on your opponents goal!

  • Goals: Can be laundry baskets, desks, or marked with anything

  • "Hockey Sticks": can be your hand, rulers, fly swatters, ping pong paddles, or any object you can strike with

  • "Puck": is the object you hit, and can be a sockball, ping pong ball, paper ball, or anything object you can hit!

EVIDENCE: Upload a video of you and a friend or family member playing your version of hockey.

WEEK 4

At Home Wall Ball

Miss playing net/wall games with your friends? You can play your own home version easily!

Partner Wall Ball.mp4


What you need:

  • An unobstructed wall

  • A small bouncy ball (tennis balls work great)

  • 2 books (or you can play using hands)

  • A partner!

General rules:

  • Bounce ball on ground before the wall to serve

  • Play ball after 0 or 1 bounce

  • Unable to return partner’s ball = partner’s point & serve

  • Can use the back wall (like Squash)

Target games are the simplest to create. Sockballs and coins are examples of objects around the house that are easy to throw. Get creative!

The classic game you know, and love? Set up a course in your home to get from one area to the next overcoming at least 5 obstacles without touching the floor. Check out Justin Bieber's example on the left (he falls in the lava, and we're okay with that).

Net/Wall games like volleyball, badminton, and tennis involve sending and receiving an object, rallies, and trying to score points by having the object land on your opponents court.
