Kirtland Hornet Boosters Club

Hello Hornet residents and families...

The Kirtland Hornet Boosters Club would like to express our sincere thanks for your support over the previous years. We hope that you will continue to be involved with the Kirtland Hornet Boosters Club. The Boosters is a volunteer organization made up of parents, alumni, administration, and coaches who strive to work together for the betterment of the school programs. We have supported our athletes by funding facility improvements, purchasing needed equipment, providing new uniforms, banquets and team dinners. If we are to continue to give our students and athletes the very best tools with which to compete, we need your support and help in running our Booster Club!

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm. Starting this year, these meetings are going to be open to all members to listen in on the planning of how we intend to support the Kirtland Local School District and our community. Once the circumstances on gatherings change, we will make the meetings details available to the public.

What we do:

The Boosters provide support for the Kirtland Local School District athletics and academics. Through membership and fundraising, the Boosters are able to contribute and subsidize the Middle School and High School athletic budgets as well as provide support to several school and community activities including :

  • KHS drama club

  • Community youth programs

  • Middle school end of the year trips

  • Robotics Club

  • The Kirtland Academic Club

  • The National Honor Society

  • The Betty Johnson Memorial Scholarship

  • The Dean Marquart Scholarship

  • End of Season banquets

  • Kirtland PTA

  • Kirtland Area Service Council

  • The Imagination Library

  • Music Boosters

  • After Prom

  • Ohio Varsity Coverage

  • Middle & High school Cheer Teams

  • Transportation for State Events

  • Pep Rally's

Recent changes in Kirtland Local Schools sports include a Pay to Participate fee (PTP) for all Middle School and High School sports participants. The school district has implemented this fee to help offset the costs of coaching salaries, transportation, and insurance. With these changes, the Booster Clubs goal is to is to continue support and assist in keeping these fees to a minimum. Since our weekly Bingo Fundraiser has been cancelled until further notice, membership support is needed now, more than ever. This year creates new challenges to discover new revenue streams and identify fundraising opportunities while adhering to the social distancing guidelines mandated by the State of Ohio.
