About Us
At Center for Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development (CETSD) IIT Jodhpur, our group work towards achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN). Our aim is to provide water treatment solutions that are sustainable or that are using sustainability aspects. We work on the natural local resources, such as sand, clay and plants, and emerging membrane technology for water treatment.
Our experimental research group focuses on designing and understanding advanced polymer materials and their synergy with inorganic materials, aiming to develop emerging membrane technologies for energy-efficient advanced separations. Our state-of-the-art lab-scale flat sheet and hollow fiber membrane fabrication and characterisation facilities enables us to work for cutting edge membrane technology. A key interest is understanding the effect of membrane structures or morphology, which will be investigated using high-resolution electron microscopy, mainly HR-SEM and HR-TEM. This will enable rational design of the next generation of membrane materials for robust liquid separations, in particular, we focus on energy-efficient and cost-effective water purification.
We are proud and privileged to work for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) to implement a rural infrastructure development project in the Birani village of the Bhopalgarh Tehsil of Jodhpur.
