Head High School Coach
Coach Rick Yauger has been coaching High school baseball for 18 years including 3 years with a college prep wood bat league in Youngstown, OH. While head coach of the Champion Golden Flashes he guided the team to their first-ever state championship in 2017. His teams were also district champions in 6 out of his 7 years as head coach. Coach Yauger was named all NE Ohio coach of the year and 5-time county coach of the year.
Coach Yauger relocated to Clarksville after retiring from the Warren Fire dept with the rank of assistant chief after 29 years of service. He also served 6 years in the US Army. He has been married for 39 years. They have two daughters and one son and two grandchildren.
Coach Yauger believes you build Champions for life using baseball as the vehicle to teach life lessons and build character. The quality of the person, not the player is the most significant outcome.

Assistant Varsity Coach / Head JV Coach
Coach Ethan Roberts has been coaching High School Baseball at Kirkwood for the past three years. He works primarily with catchers and hitters while also serving as the JV Head Coach. During his two seasons leading the JV Cobras, the team has compiled a 21-12-1 record with a .632 winning percentage. Coach Roberts has also been nominated for Montgomery County Coach of the Year in each of the past two seasons.
Born and raised in Dickson, Tennessee, Coach Roberts played high school baseball at Creek Wood High School in Charlotte, Tennessee. After graduation, he continued his baseball career at the collegiate level, playing two years of NAIA baseball as a catcher.
Following college, Coach Roberts proudly served in the United States Army for 13 years. After completing his military service, he transitioned into education and now serves as a U.S. History Teacher and Baseball Coach at the High School level.
Above all, Coach Roberts is most proud of being a father to his three children, Kenna, Blakely and Lane.

Assistant Middle School
Jaxon Mixon will be entering his 3rd season as a middle school coach. Prior to coaching at Kirkwood, Coach Mixon spent his first-year coaching at Northeast Middle School.
Before coaching, Coach Mixon played at Northeast High School from 2018-2022. Mixon was a varsity catcher for all of his high school career and even played for multiple travel teams. During his travel ball career, Mixon played for the Clarksville Orioles (2016-2019), G1 Baseball (2019-2020), and Old Hickory (2020-2022). In Northeast's 2021-2022 season, Mixon was voted All-District and All-Tournament for District 13-4A.
Jaxon Mixon is a lifelong Clarksville resident studying at Austin Peay State University pursuing a BA in Kinesiology/ Physical Education.
