Established on February 12, 1950 as the Kirkwood Men's Garden Club, the organization was originally an affiliated chapter of the Men's Garden Clubs of America. The national affiliation was later expanded to include women and is now known as the Gardeners of America. In February of 2000, the local club name was changed to Kirkwood Garden Club to reflect the gender inclusive nature of the organization.
We welcome members from around the St. Louis metro area. Our meetings are often held in Kirkwood, but we organize activities through out the area. No gardening expertise required; our members range from novice to expert.
The Club has designed, planted, and maintained the flower display adjacent to the Kirkwood Train Station since 1978. We have planted and maintained the flowerbed on Kirkwood Road across from the Station since 1981.
