Why the name Watermelon Soda?

We decided upon Watermelon Soda due to it being voted the most in our poll. It was suggested in our interest check. We couldn't decide on a name so we wanted to let those interested in the zine to decide which one they thought was best.

What happened to the Halloween KiriDeku zine? Are you guys still doing it?

We originally were going to do a Halloween zine, but we pushed that back since we wanted that it to be physical. Hopefully, after we finish the general AU, we'll be able to do the Halloween zine for the sunshine boys!

Will the zine have a NSFW option?

There will be a seperate ‘add-on’ PDF which will feature the NSFW content so people have the option of purchasing SFW and/or NSFW. Participants will have the option of doing pieces for one or both of these. It’s because of this that participants must be over 18.

Is the zine for-profit or for charity?

The zine is a for-profit zine. All contributors will be given equal pay depending on how much the zine sells.

Is the zine PDF only or will it be printed?

The zine will be PDF-only due to COVID-19. Many countries are under lockdown, therefor mail will not be able to be shipped to any lockdown countries. However, we will try to provide contributors a physical copy of the zine. If we do, we'll have a very limited leftover sales for the physical book (though shipping will depend on the future).

Do you have to be a specific age to join the zine?

Contributors must be 18 years old or older to contribute to the zine.

How many contributors are you taking?

We are taking 20 artists and 10 writers. However, please be aware that those numbers may change. If they do change, they’ll be announced.

Will contributors get a free copy of the zine?

We will be giving all participants a free PDF copy of the zine and all associated digital merchandise made. We will also try to get physical copies of the zine to all contributors.

Will other pairings be allowed in the zine?

Other pairings are definitely allowed, however, we don’t want it to be the primary focus.

Are contributors allowed to publish/sell their work outside of the zine?

All participants retain the rights to their artwork and are able to do with it as they please after the zine has been published and sold. We will give participants a notice when they are allowed to freely distribute their pieces as they see fit.

Do participants have to join Discord?

Previous experience running zines has shown that keeping participants organised via Discord is the easiest way for the mods to manage things. All participants will be asked to join a Discord server, and joining the server will be mandatory. However you don’t need to post anything beyond WIP check-ins if you don’t want to.

This is because some emails are being marked as Spam by some inboxes due to mass emails being sent out. So information isn’t missed, we post everything on the Discord server so everyone can easily see and reference it, but important information is also emailed out to be doubly sure.
