Story (so far)

The super world begins with Kirby about to eat a strawberry shortcake, but is interrupted by an earthquake, which causes ladders to rise up from the ground (one of which carries Castle Dedede into space). After exploring a tutorial level and calming down an angered Whispy Woods, Kirby and Bandanna Waddle Dee (or BWD for short) meet Tempest, who asks for help in defeating the Time Master, an evil sorcerer and the game's main antagonist, but Kirby and BWD set off on their adventure halfway through Tempest's sentence. 

After they climb a ladder that somehow leads to Kirby's Dream Land's Green Greens, Tempest explains that the Time Master aims to rule all of the the past, present, and future using an ancient artifact called the Ladder of Time (or LOT for short), and tried to activate its power via a ritual, but Tempest, knowing his evil intentions, interrupted the ritual and caused it to fail, thus triggering a magical chemical reaction that not only shattered the LOT into 3 fragments, but caused lots of other random floating ladders, each leading to different times, to appear in the sky. Tempest also mentions that one of the ladders lifted King Dedede's castle high into space and into the clutches of the Time Master, much to BWD's fright.

After exploring Big Forest and Cloudy Park of Kirby's Dream Land 2 and 3 respectively, Kirby climbs a ladder leading to Kirby's Adventure's Orange Ocean, where he duels and defeats Meta Knight. Later, Kirby (accompanied by BWD and Tempest) and his past self (nicknamed Kirb) end up near a Boss Portal at the same time, separated by a glass wall, which they each think is a mirror. Suddenly however, an evil voice, which Tempest recognizes as the Time Master's voice, is heard from the Boss Portal, mocking the heroes and telling them that he has prepared a deadly trap for them and he will end them all soon. While Kirby and BWD are confused by the taunt, Kirb heads into the Boss Portal. Kirby then realizes that there is another one of himself here, and tries to enter the Boss Portal as well, only for it to close before he is able to pass through it. Meanwhile, Kirb fights and bests Dark Matter (in both his swordsman form and his standard form) at the top of Kirby's Dream Land 2's Dark Castle. After that, Kirb meets up with the other heroes, and after sorting themselves out, they grab an LOT fragment and move on.

The group explores Olive Ocean & Prism Plains from Kirby & the Amazing Mirror and Kirby Squeak Squad respectively, dodging attacks from enemies and the Squeaks, a notorious gang of thieves led by Daroach. After exploring the Great Cave Offensive (much to Kirby's dismay) from Kirby Super Star, Kirby and the rest end up in Kirby Squeak Squad's Ice Island, where they fall victim to one of Daroach's traps, and end up fighting and defeating him, allowing them to move on. Again, they end up near another Boss Portal, and on the way, Tempest explains that Boss Portals, like the huge floating ladders, lead to different places in time, and that the Time Master is using them to locate LOT fragments, but forgot that the heroes could use them as well. However, Tempest knows that the Time Master wouldn't leave a Boss Portal all by itself, and realizes that there is a trap inside the Boss Portal, but despite her warnings, the Kirbies and BWD jump into the Boss Portal, forcing Tempest to reluctantly jump in as well. As Tempest expected, they land in a trap where they are forced to battle Marx, and after a difficult battle, they prevail and grab another LOT fragment, much to the Time Master's dismay.

Later, they receive a call on from King Dedede, who tells them that Meta Knight tried saving him, but his fate or the fate of the 7 Waddle Dees accompanying Dedede is unknown to him. He also tells them that his location is in Kirby’s Return to Dreamland’s Another Dimension, and is about to tell them the password for entering his location, but the Time Master interrupts and mocks them, then hangs up.

Now even more determined to move on, Kirby and co. find their way through Gigabyte Grounds and Jambastion of Kirby Planet Robobot and Kirby Star Allies respectively. After making their way through Winter Horns from Kirby and the Forgotten Land, they battle and defeat Susie and her Business Suit, then enter another Boss Portal where they, to their surprise, fight and successfully defeat the Modern Era Dedede & his Dededestroyer Z to claim another LOT fragment.
