Task: To create a chip shooter device (within the given dimensions) that would accurately land the chip in random small squares within 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Successes: We were able to create a device with no deductions and successfully get the chip into 2/3 target zones with one bonus shot.
Improvements: We created the device with set angles and they were not always accurate which inhibited our performance. In addition, the time that it took to load the device took away from the amount of points that we were able to attempt.
Personal Strengths: Delegation, kept team on task, problem solver, and communicator.
Task: To create a bar stool out of one sheet of foam core (within given dimensions) that would be able to hold a "heavy sitter" of 210 lbs without breaking.
Successes: We won the aesthetic portion and had a very quick assembly which helped us bolster our points. We were able to hold a light sitter of around 160 lbs as well.
Improvements: We created it with an x shape with no reinforcements which caused the structure to be off balance when under human use. This prevented us from being able to hold the heavy sitter and accomplish the task effectively.
Personal Strengths: brainstorming, design, and communicator.
Task: To design a patent biomedical device that solves some issue in the medical world or beyond.
Task: To create an exoskeleton model to enable rotation in the forearm for people who have brachial plexus palsy.
Current work: Creating a computational model on OpenSim to evaluate the design and effectiveness of certain forces on the injured limb.
