The Kingsway Junior Wrestling program brings together children ages 4 through middle school from the Kingsway communities for an instructional and competitive program where basic wrestling skills are taught and practiced in a supervised setting under the guidance of experienced coaches.
Our goal is to help children develop confidence, self-reliance, discipline, and respect, while stressing the importance of good sportsmanship and teamwork. Many of our former participants have gone on to successful high school and college wrestling careers and have credited our program as one of the main drivers.
Kingsway Junior Wrestling belongs to the South Jersey Wrestling League, a highly competitive and organized league that includes teams throughout Southern New Jersey. In all, there are 19 teams, each with Tots, Bantams, Midgets, Juniors and Middle School squads.
In addition, Kingsway belongs to the Tri-County Middle School Wrestling League where it competes with 10 other competitive middle school programs to prepare for the high school experience.
Season practices begin in November with league meets starting in December/January. Competitive open and novice tournaments are scheduled and attended throughout the year as well. The Kingsway season ends in February with the League Championship Tournaments.
