Horizon 22 and Bank of England Museum March 2024

Fifteen members of KURSA headed for the tallest building in London. Meeting as usual under the clock at Waterloo, we took the Waterloo and City Line to Bank and then walked up Threadneedle Street past the Bank of England to the base of the Horizon 22 tower.

Our ears popped (several times) as the lift took us to the viewing gallery on the 58th floor with amazing views over London and the Thames. We looked down on the Gherkin, and the Tower of London looked like a model.

Horizon 22 is 912 feet tall with 62 floors. The viewing gallery is about 36 feet taller than the one on the Shard, the Eiffel Tower is 1083 feet (about 81 floors) and Blackpool Tower is 518 feet … and 9 inches.

We then headed for the Bank of England Museum where we had our first views of the new bank notes with King Charles image, and had the chance to try to lift a gold ingot.
