FAQ: Do you accept donations?
Answer: While Kingston Salvage is not a nonprofit, we do “salvage” unwanted items within these guidelines…
Clean and free of odors such as cigarette, weed, or pet odors.
If it’s clothing, we prefer clothing that is AT LEAST 20 years old (hence “vintage”) and free of stains or damage. Also preferred is “boho” style clothing or anything unique or unusual.
(If it’s newer clothing there are several other establishments where you can donate.)
And please, no dumping. Call or text me to arrange a time for drop off.
FAQ: Where do you get your inventory.....do you buy things?
Answer: I typically don't buy anything, I just salvage unwanted items. If you have items that you want to get rid of, please see the information above.
FAQ: Do you do consignments?
Answer: I don't do consignments; however, I rent space to a few local makers for them to display and sell their products, at my discretion.
FAQ: How do your discounts work?
Answer:
String tag discounts- We recycle our string tags! If you've purchased items with string tags, save the tags (tuck them in your wallet or purse) and redeem them the 1st through the 14th of each month. They are worth 5% each, and can be combined on a purchase of any amount (limit 7 tags per day per person).
Date discounts- starting with the 15th of each month, spend $15 or more and get 15% off your purchase! Same concept for each date through the end of the month. For example, on the 30th if you spend at least $30 you get 30% off.
(Discounts exclude maker merch and cannot be combined with gift certificates)
FAQ: Do you accept credit cards and checks?
Answer:
Yes, I accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. If you have a digital wallet, feel free to use the tap feature on your phone. There is no minimum purchase required and I don't charge a fee for using a card.
I also accept local checks.
FAQ: Are you still open if there is no car at your store?
Answer: YES! If the sandwich sign is outside and the OPEN signs are lit, the store is definitely open. My husband and I only have one vehicle, so he sometimes has our car but I am here!
FAQ: What is your return policy?
Answer: All sales are final with the exception of electronics and electrical items. If the electronic or electrical item you purchased doesn't work or stops working within a week, you may return it with the receipt and price tag and you will receive in-store credit of the same amount, excluding tax.
FAQ: How often do you put new stuff out?
Answer: Almost every day that the store is open for business we are putting fresh inventory on the floor.
