One of the most notable claims made by Michelin is that the Commander 2 will have double the lifetime of competing tires from other manufacturers (as much as 25000 miles).
The Commander 2 is designed specifically for the Kings Motorcycle Gear | cruiser tire market, including Harley-Davidsons and metric cruisers.
The tire is available in a variety of sizes and styles, with radial and bias options for rear tires up to 200mm and front tires up to 130mm.
The Commander 2 features modern styling on both the sidewall and the tread pattern. However, the aesthetic is not just for show, as the tire incorporates rain technology that has been developed over the past decade.
This results in improved traction, maneuverability, and stability in wet conditions, thanks to the longitudinal grooves.
H and V are examples of speed rating symbols used in this chart, where H stands for up to 130 mph (210 km/h), and V stands for up to 149 mph (240 km/h).
The Commander 2 utilizes Silica Rain Technology (SRT), which incorporates additional compounds into the grooves to enhance performance further in wet conditions.
The tire also employs aramidic fibers within the plies of the tire, which allow for increased density without adding weight.

What I Like and Don’t Like
After fitting these tires onto my 2017 Indian Scout, I instantly felt the difference. I found them to be smooth, grippy, and easy to lean into turns.
I found them to give me a different sensation compared to the Avon Venom tires on my previous bike, a VS 800 Intruder.
While these tires didn’t feel like they took the weight off my bike, they still provided excellent grip and easy maneuverability.
