What is STEM?
STEM stands for Science Technology Engineering Maths.
STEM subjects are important as they form the basis of a variety of careers. Most obvious might be - Doctor, engineer and accountant. But there are others you might not have even considered associated with STEM subjects such as software designer, pilot or even an architect.

Space Scientist: From astronauts and rocket scientists to meteorologist and climate scientists, space scientists study the Earth's atmosphere as well as outer space and the things in it. Must study: Physics
What's great about STEM careers?
The UK is currently faces a skill shortage in STEM. This means that if this continues, there will not be enough people in areas such as engineering, medical research or even in healthcare to meet our needs and also to keep our economy going.
